Teacher of Food Technology/Hospitality

We are looking for a full time, fixed term teacher of Food Technology and Hospitality to join our small but growing and highly successful department to cover for a member of staff who will be on parental leave. To commence on Monday 14 July 2025 and finishing on 13 July 2026.
The successful candidate will have a passion for raising students’ expectations and achievement.

You will have the willingness and ability to build meaningful relationships with and engage Māori and Pasifika students and their whānau.

You will have high expectations of students and yourself and be able to work effectively and efficiently in a culturally diverse school and community.

You will be able to work collaboratively in a team and teach cross curricular and be willing and able to adapt to or facilitate change in teaching and learning methods.

A commitment to culturally responsive and relationship-based pedagogy is essential.

Previous experience in a high equity index kura or similar environment would be an advantage and you must be able to teach years 9 – 13 and assess students up to and including Level 3 Food Technology/Hospitality.

The terms and conditions, including the base salary for the position is set by the Secondary Teachers Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $66k to $97k, depending on applicant’s qualifications and experience. Individuals actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once the role is confirmed.
