We encourage the use of Chromebooks supplied by Kootuitui ki Papakura. They are a charitable trust established to support a cluster of schools in Papakura. Amongst other things they provide digital devices to students at an affordable price with payment options available. More information about the trust is given at the bottom of this page.
Students who purchase their device through Kootuitui ki Papakura will receive:
- An Acer C733 11.6" Chromebook with a 3 year warranty.
- A Hard-shell case with 6-year warranty.
- Google Management Console Licence
- Free delivery to school
- Technician support in school
- Chrome Education Licence

If you choose to purchase your device from another provider, please make sure it meets the minimum specifications listed below.
Students will be required to take their device to a school technician to have the Google Management Console Licence added as well as other software to enable the device to be used at school. A cost may be incured for setting up these devices.

All students and their caregiver are required to read and sign our ICT Responsible Use Agreement as part of enrolment.
As of Term 2 2024, the use of personal digital devices by students at any time during the school day is forbidden by law. This includes cellphones and other digital devices that are not part of normal learning at Papakura High School.
Headphones, earbud, and portable speakers are not permitted during class time. (Exceptions may be made for students on an Individual Learning Plan.)
Students who do not abide by the rules around the use of personal digital devices at school can expect them to be confiscated.
Digital Scholarships
Students enrolling in year 9 at Papakura High School are eligible to apply for a Digital Scholarship. Each successful recipient will receive a Chromebook.

Kootuitui ki Papakura is a charitable trust established to support a cluster of schools in Papakura. Kootuitui is to inter-connect and weave together, ki Papakura is ‘in Papakura’. The Trust supports a programme which integrates health, homes and education for children, their families and whānau and aims to:
- enable fully-engaged digital citizenship through transformed pedagogy to enhance educational outcomes;
- support families to take control of their lives, their economic, health and social wellbeing; and
- ensure children are healthy to learn and free from preventable illnesses.
