How to Enrol

We welcome you into our school family and aim to make the transition to our School as easy as possible.

Getting Started

Download an enrolment pack from this page, or collect one from the school office. Complete the required forms, then return the following documentation:

  • Completed enrolment forms (these include; the Application for Enrolment, Health History and ICT Responsible Use Agreement)
  • Proof of Identity (birth certificate or passport)
  • Proof of address (for example, the primary guardians; tenancy agreement, phone bill, bank statement etc)
  • Immunisation Records (if applicable)

The Next Steps

In-zone Students

All in-zone students will be notified of their acceptance once we receive your completed enrolment forms and the required documents.

Out-of-zone Students

We will contact you to let you know we have received your application. If we receive more out-of-zone applications than we have space for, you will be entered into a ballot. You will be notified if your application has been successful after the ballot has been drawn. See below for more information about the ballot.

Zoning

All students who normally live within our school zone are entitled to attend our school after their enrolment has been received.

If you live outside of this area, you will need to go through an out-of-zone enrolment process. See below for more information about the Ballot priorities.

Our School Zone

This map shows our school zone. Click the link below to see if you live within it.

Each year The Board decides the number of out-of-zone placements that will be available. If the school receives more applications than the number of available spaces, a ballot will be held. The number of available spaces and ballot dates will be published on this page.

The Ballot Priorities

Students will be offered placement based on the following priorities:

  1. First priority will be given to students enrolling in the Te Mita o Te Reo Māori programme. Learn more here
  2. Second priority will be given to to students who are siblings of current students (proof of relationship is required).
  3. Third priority will be given to siblings of former students.
  4. Fourth priority will be given to children of former students.
  5. Fifth priority will be given to students who are children of either school employees or Board members.
  6. Sixth priority will be given to other applicants.

All applicants will be contacted by email after the ballot informing them if their application was successful and what happens next.

Late applications will not be considered.

All Students accepted into year 9 will be invited to attend an Orientation day. This is usually held in December the year before they start. Students will:

  • Have a tour of our Kura
  • Be introduced to different subject areas
  • Meet key people including; Kaitohutohu (tutor teachers), Kaitiaki (prefects), and Kaiāwhina (student leaders)
  • Find out other information about joining our school.

Students who are enrolling in years 10-13 may contact the office to organise a school visit and orientation prior to their start date.
