Leadership Opportunities at a Glance
In Year 12, students can apply for Kaitiaki (prefect) positions, which they will hold in Year 13. The selection process involves a written application followed by a voting process. At the same time, students can apply to become Kaitiaki Whānau (Head students), with one selected from each Whānau after an additional interview.
Other leadership opportunities include:
- Joining the school council (Te Kaunihera) as an elective
- Selecting the Sports Leadership (PEL) course as an elective subject for seniors
- Participating in various committees like Social and Sports
- Attending leadership workshops, courses, and camps
- Leading the haka with staff guidance
Students are encouraged to speak with their Kaiārahi Team (Whānau leaders) to learn more about these opportunities and the application process.
